Senior Leadership Team Reset is a six-month behavioural and psychological intervention for senior teams experiencing dysfunction, fragmentation or barriers to effective collective leadership.
It is not a conventional leadership programme or a one-off away day. Bridge works with the SLT as a living human ecosystem, looking at the individuals, relationships, history, influence, behaviours and organisational pressures that shape how the team actually operates.
The aim is to understand what is driving the current dynamics and help a collection of senior individuals become a stronger, more connected leadership team, with shared responsibility for the whole organisation rather than simply representing their own functions.
An organisation chart tells us who sits on the senior leadership team. It does not tell us how that team behaves as a human system.
Around the senior table, four realities can operate at the same time: the Formal Table of strategy, governance and decisions; the Human Table of trust and relationships; the Political Table of power, territory and influence; and the Organisational Table connecting leaders back to employees, customers, values, culture and lived experience.
Drawing on more than two decades of Bridge work across leadership, culture and behavioural change, we look at how those realities interact. Who influences whom? Who speaks and who withdraws? Where is challenge welcomed or avoided? We are interested in the unsaid as much as the said.
Senior leadership teams can become fragmented for many reasons. Historic relationships, departmental loyalties, changes in leadership, unresolved conflict, confidence, informal alliances, nepotism, different levels of influence and the pressures surrounding senior roles can all affect how effectively the team works together.
Sometimes the dysfunction is obvious. Sometimes the team continues to deliver while trust, communication and collective responsibility are becoming increasingly strained. Disagreement can leave the room and travel back into departments, or leaders can begin protecting territory rather than contributing to the wider organisational agenda.
The Reset looks at the whole picture: what is creating difficulty, what is working well, and which strengths and positive points of unification should be protected and built upon.
The Reset begins with a deep diagnostic rather than a predetermined training programme. This can include psychometric testing, individual feedback, deep individual interviews, direct-report and employee insight, organisational history and observation of the SLT working together in real meetings.
That intelligence shapes a bespoke six-month intervention within a clear Bridge pathway, combining the elements the evidence shows are needed. These can include individual coaching and mentoring, relationship repair, live meeting observation, a two-day SLT Reset off-site, diagnostic-led Reset Labs, employee connection and practical behavioural interventions.
One primary Bridge practitioner keeps sight of the whole ecosystem, bringing in specialist expertise where needed and staying close enough to respond to the dynamics that emerge as the Reset progresses.
The Reset helps senior leaders understand both their individual impact and the collective system they are creating. It makes patterns of influence and behaviour more visible, strengthens professional relationships and improves the way challenge, disagreement and difficult truth are handled.
It reconnects senior leaders with employees and the lived organisation, helping the SLT move beyond departmental interests towards shared responsibility for the whole. A healthy senior team should be able to challenge without being challenging, disagree without destabilising the wider organisation and support one another without lowering standards or accountability.
The journey culminates in an SLT Behavioural Playbook: a practical agreement for how the team will work, communicate, decide, support, challenge and lead together, particularly when pressure is greatest.

The intensive Reset takes place over six months, followed by lighter-touch support to protect progress and reduce the risk of old behaviours quietly returning.
At 12 months, Bridge returns to the wider organisational perspective, reconnecting with direct reports and selected employees and observing the SLT again to explore whether changes around the senior table are now being experienced by the people they lead.
Six months measures the Reset. Twelve months measures the Ripple Effect: whether the behavioural shift is beginning to change the experience of the extended team and the organisation as a whole.
